CONSIGNMENT GUIDELINES
Putting your prints in a vetted auction is your best chance of receiving full value for your prints.
The following is a summary of our service:
We have held monthly Internet auctions of Japanese prints since January 1997. Currently, we have more than 2600 registered bidders and receive 1000 individual site visits per day from more than 50 countries. We hold two auction per month of about 100 prints per auction.
We are a true public auction with more than 99 percent of our lots coming from material consigned by dealers and collectors from around the world. We prepare a catalogue description, evaluate, create a digital image, auction, and ship your prints. Our only charge to the seller is a commission of 15 percent of the hammered price. Any unsold lots will be returned at no charge or can be re-offered at a lowered reserve.
With two sales per month of 100 to 200 prints each, we are always accepting consignment. It will seldom take more than 30 days to have your works auctioned. Our only restrictions are that (1). they are in loose condition (no framed materials), (2). they are in our possession to permit an estimate of value and an evaluation of authenticity, (3). they are your property with no liens or encumbrances, and (4). the estimated value of each lot is at least $100 US.

SHIPPING TIPS
It is preferable to send your prints sandwiched between sheets of uncreased cardboard. The prints should be encased in a protective cover such as a plastic garbage bag to assure that no tape comes in contact with the prints. The prints can then be secured to one of the multiple sheets of cardboard. Prints can also be sent is mailing tubes, but this requires more care in packaging. It typically requires securing the prints to an inner tube so that they do not move in shipment. Movement causes wrinkling at the ends. We use US Priority Mail with "Signature Required". This is very safe and allows tracking. We will send you a final auction estimate and suggested reserves as soon as the prints arrive.
